Baby alien

This image was created on an ordinary day right around the corner during an outing to Slättadamm. Apart from all the ducks, hungry for bread, and the baby alien caught in spider web on a lone birch tree, the day offered peace and tranquility for father and daughter. The truth is out there… 🙂

Sickness

Is there a sickness within us? Is Utøya the latest outbreak? Do we all carry with us the stuff of nightmare? What is the nature of humanity?

“Drowning deep in my sea of loathing
Broken your servant I kneel
(Will you give in to me?)
It seems what’s left of my human side
Is slowly changing in me
(Will you give in to me?)

Looking at my own reflection
When suddenly it changes
Violently it changes (oh no)
There is no turning back now
You’ve woken up the demon in me”

[Down with the sickness, Disturbed]

Where lions sleep…

“It was once found throughout Africa, Asia and Europe but now exists only in Africa and the  Sasan-Gir National Park in India.” [WWF]

I would that you listen to the Mbube song by South African Zulu musician and singer Solomon Linda while you watch the image below.

Haketjärn

Last week me and my girlfriend visited a for us previously unheard of mere in the vicinity of Gothenburg – Haketjärn. This was a very nice place indeed and offered spectacular views. See Light Quantum.se for a map and description on how to get there.

On arrival (a lengthy, cumbersome bus ride and prolonged walking due to poor decisions on bus stops eventually got us there) we settled for a base camp and, in the spirit of our teacher, began seeping in the scenery and atmosphere. This meditative activity was, however, brought to an abrupt end by the onslaught of… ants, lots of ants. Base camp had to be hastily abandoned.

While breaking camp local hunters approached and kindly pointed out a narrow trail to a much better suited location. At the time I was convinced this act of mercy was only a convenient way for them local hunters to know our approximation before butchering us. This, of course, never happened. Huh!

The evening offered sunset, rain, mist, outdoor cooking, mosquitoes. Fantastic. A must see place 🙂

Further endeavours

Yahoo! A few days ago I received news from studera.nu that my application for two internet based courses in photography have been approved. Consequently, this autumn I will be taking Digital Image Editing and Photography – Visual Communication. The challenge now is of course actually completing these courses 🙂 One step at a time.

First Post!

Aye, it’s true… I have a blog 🙂

This blog is part of my one-year project to pursue the personal nature photography and sort the emotional turmoil in the later part of my life. More on this to come of course.

A great warm thank you to illustrious photographer Terje Hellesø for providing such beautiful inspiration, above and beyond what could be reasonably expected.

Below are some of the photos I created during last week’s course in photography with Terje.
